PORTLAND, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP, a member of the Am Law 200 and Oregon’s largest and market-leading corporate law firm, is pleased to announce that Steven J. Boender has joined as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice group in Portland. Boender is a former partner with K&L Gates in Portland, where he concentrated his practice primarily on corporate and securities law.
Boender’s practice focuses on corporate transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, venture capital and emerging growth companies, and securities compliance. He has represented clients in a wide array of industries ranging from semiconductors and software to agriculture and manufacturing.

Boender counsels a diverse client base. He has worked with private equity and venture funds based in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles on acquisitions, minority investments and sale transactions with deal values ranging up to $100 million and more. An experienced international business attorney, Boender also has represented clients in transactions in Europe and Asia, including multiple cross-border acquisitions.

Admitted to practice in Oregon and Illinois, Boender earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Calvin College and his juris doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. He earned his MBA, with high distinction, from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is an active committee member on the Multi-school MBA Alumni Organization composed of the alumni clubs of the top MBA programs in the country. Boender also is a board member and networking chair of the University of Michigan Alumni Club Portland Chapter.
