Seattle, WA — Stoel Rives LLP is very proud to announce that partner Alex Oh of the firm’s Seattle office has been selected by the Washington Diversity Council (WADC) as a recipient of its Washington LGBT Leadership Award. The award recognizes leaders in corporate America and within the LGBTQ community for their recognizable advocacy efforts, service as role models within the LGBTQ community and promotion of inclusiveness within the workplace. The award recipients were honored at the WA LGBT Roundtable and Awards Breakfast in Seattle on June 9, 2016.
The WADC was organized in 2012 to foster a learning environment for organizations to grow and leverage their knowledge of diversity. Its goals are to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community, develop leaders who are aware of all aspects of diversity and inclusion and develop programs that support diversity education and awareness.
Alex Oh is an intellectual property lawyer whose practice focuses on helping large and small biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and chemical industry companies and research institutions to protect their cutting-edge technologies. Alex is very committed to the Seattle LGBTQ community, of which he is a prominent member. He currently serves on the board of the QLaw Association of Washington as its Immediate Past President. Since 2011, Alex has acted as Cooperating Counsel/Pro Bono Attorney for Legal Voice and Montana Human Rights Network. Alex also serves as an Ex Officio Member of the eQuality Advisory Council, Center for Children & Youth Justice (CCYJ). CCYJ’s eQuality Project is the first statewide effort to help LGBTQ youth in foster care and the juvenile justice system find safety and support.
