Portland, OR — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that partner Joan Snyder has been selected by Lawyer Monthly magazine as a recipient of the 2014 Women in Law Award. This award recognizes and highlights the achievements of women in the legal profession across the globe. 

Snyder is a member of the Stoel Rives Executive Committee and a partner in the firm’s Environment, Land Use and Natural Resources group. Her practice is focused in the areas of environmental law, natural resources law, environmental and natural resources insurance coverage, and health and safety law. She regularly advises clients on all aspects of state and federal cleanups, including the defense of natural resource damages claims.

Lawyer Monthly is a news website and monthly legal publication. New in 2014, the Women in Law Awards highlight female attorneys across the globe who have influenced the wider legal profession in their jurisdiction. Snyder was one of fewer than 50 woman lawyers in the United States chosen for the award.
