On Wednesday, March 13, the Portland City Council unanimously passed an ordinance that will require employers provide sick time to employees. This ordnance will require private employers to provide 40 hours of sick leave per year. For employers with six or more employees, this time must be paid, but may be unpaid for smaller businesses.
