Importing FDA Regulated Products: Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Importing dietary supplements and dietary ingredients presents particularly challenging opportunities fraught with multivariate risks requiring business strategies dependent upon interdisciplinary competence. Without 'owning the transaction' from end-to-end, regulatory non-compliance can result in civil and criminal penalties, denial of entry, seizure and destruction of goods, as well as unintended commercial consequences. During this session, you’ll learn how to navigate some of these challenges and how to interact with and respond to U.S. Food & Drug Administration, Department of Agriculture, and Customs and Border Protection, and strategies for managing the related business risks in importing dietary ingredients and finished dietary supplements.

Recent and expected court decisions also have the potential to alter the way Prop 65 cases are brought and litigated. This panel will examine the current state of Proposition 65 and discuss the changes that are happening on the legislative, administrative and litigation fronts. The panel also will discuss what these developments mean to you and how they will impact the way you do business in California.
