SAN DIEGO- Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that its San Diego office is moving to a larger space to accommodate its growing practice. As of July 2, the new address will be 12255 El Camino Real, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92130.

"Our move is just next door, but it signifies a major expansion of our services to Southern California," said San Diego partner Howard Susman. He noted that while energy law has been the core focus of the office, with an international portfolio of clients engaged in renewable energy, thermal energy, repowering and transmission, the firm has added expertise to meet the growing needs of its Southern California clients in capital transactions, project finance, environmental compliance, and land use regulation. "This expansion is a good match for the San Diego community, a recognized leader in energy project development, technical innovation, and venture capital," he said.

Stoel Rives' San Diego expansion is part of its California growth strategy. The firm has recently enhanced its capabilities and bench strength in the San Diego office with the additions of environmental and land use attorneys Wayne Rosenbaum, Elizabeth Cason and Ryan Waterman and corporate M&A and finance attorney Julia Pettit. They joined energy project development attorneys Howard Susman, Morten Lund, John McKinsey, and Brian Nese and corporate M&A and finance attorney David Quinby. The number of attorneys working out of the San Diego office has tripled in just two years. Further expansion is planned in the near future.

"Our growth in San Diego, and in our Northern California offices − San Francisco, Sacramento, and Lake Tahoe − reflects Stoel Rives' commitment to tailoring our practice to provide better services to our California clients," said California Managing Partner Tim Taylor. "We know the vibrant California market will continue to grow and we intend to play an increasing role in that growth."

Complementing Stoel Rives' nationally ranked energy practice,* the firm's California offices also offer representation in business litigation, Prop 65 and related issues, labor and employment, state and federal environmental issues, land use, construction, and real estate matters.

*Nationally rated Tier 1 for Energy Law, 2011-2012, U.S. News – Best Lawyers® ''Best Law Firms'' survey, and nationally ranked in Projects: Renewables & Alternative Energy by Chambers USA, 2012.
