Partner Steve Abel Elected to Board of Directors of Sustainable Northwest

- Steve Abel, a partner with Stoel Rives LLP, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Sustainable Northwest, a leader in regional sustainable development. Sustainable Northwest is a Portland, Oregon-based nonprofit organization that promotes environmentally sound economic development in communities of the Pacific Northwest. Their mission is to build partnerships that promote environmentally sound economic development in communities of the Pacific Northwest.

"As someone born and raised in the Northwest, I share Sustainable Northwest's deep commitment to the long-term health and vitality of our economy balanced with responsible stewardship of our environment," said Abel.

Abel concentrates his practice in the areas of land use and real estate law and is chair of the firm's Land Use practice group. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar Real Estate and Land Use Section. In addition, Abel just completed an eight-year tenure as Commissioner and President of the City of Portland Planning Commission.
