SALT LAKE CITY- Stoel Rives LLP, a full-service U.S. business law firm, is proud to announce that Paul S. Evans, former general counsel at Specialized Health Products International, has joined its Technology and Intellectual Property practice group.

Evans focuses his practice on counseling companies in the technology and life science industries on patent-related matters. During his career, he has managed a wide variety of intellectual property portfolios, one consisting of as many as 400 issued and pending patent applications worldwide. He has negotiated multiple, complex development, license and OEM supply and distribution agreements; developed foreign and domestic patent strategies; and managed technology transfer and licensing of proprietary technologies.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Evans was general counsel, chief intellectual property counsel and vice president of business development at Specialized Health Products International. From 1994 to 2000 he served as vice president, general counsel and director of a technology development company. He worked as a patent attorney with Snow, Christensen & Martineau from 1992 to 1994.

Evans received his J.D. in 1992 from the S.J. Quinney College of Law, an M.B.A. in 2004 at the David Eccles School of Business, and a B.S. in 1986 in Mechanical Engineering, all from the University of Utah.
