PORTLAND- In a recent survey by the
Portland Business Journal, Stoel Rives was ranked among Oregon's top corporate donors to charity.
The survey ranks prominent Oregon businesses based on their charitable contributions in 2005. Stoel Rives ranked second for in-kind Oregon contributions (valued at $1.4 million), surpassed only by NIKE. Stoel Rives' total in-kind contributions ranked third, with a value of $2.2 million. For cash contributions to Oregon charities, Stoel Rives ranked ninth, higher than any other law firm listed in the survey.
"At Stoel Rives, we place a great deal of value on good citizenship," says Beth Ugoretz, Managing Partner of Stoel Rives. "We feel fortunate to be able to give back to our community in significant ways."
The survey was published as part of a special "Corporate Philanthropy" section in the Portland Business Journal. The survey ranks prominent Oregon businesses in five categories: value of in-kind contributions to Oregon charities, value of total in-kind contributions, amount of cash contributions to Oregon charities, amount of corporate foundation cash contributions to Oregon charities, and amount of corporate foundation total cash contributions.
