PORTLAND- Stoel Rives partner
Jennifer Martin, an experienced energy attorney, has returned to the firm's Portland, Oregon office after spending several years in its Salt Lake City, Utah office.
Jennifer's practice focuses on state and federal energy regulation, an area of law that is increasingly important as the United States seeks to foster development of new domestic energy sources, including renewable energy. As a member of the Stoel Rives Energy and Telecommunications and Independent Power practice groups, Jennifer has represented a variety of energy industry clients in matters such as regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and electric industry restructuring. Her substantial experience includes proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Oregon Public Utility Commission, the Utah Public Service Commission, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and other courts and state agencies.
"We're thrilled to have Jennifer back in Portland," says Bill Holmes, who heads the firm's Energy and Telecommunications group. "The Pacific Northwest is home to a diverse array of independent power producers, traditional and alternative energy developers, investors and utilities. Jennifer's regulatory knowledge and experience are crucial components of the full range of legal services Stoel Rives provides for existing and new energy projects."
Jennifer is a member of the Western Power Trading Forum, the Energy Bar Association and Oregon Women Lawyers, among other organizations. She is admitted to practice in Oregon, in Utah and before the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the D.C. Circuit.
