McKinsey Discusses Project Finance in Renewable Energy Podcast
4/2/2009

In a podcast focused on emerging algae energy technology, Stoel Rives attorney John McKinsey provided updates on project finance conditions for the renewable energy industry.

McKinsey called the shift of emphasis by the Obama Administration towards renewable energy and carbon management a significant development. While much of the government funding architecture (through agencies like the Department of Energy) was already in place, he predicted that renewable energy ventures now stand a much higher chance of getting funds. McKinsey also anticipated that with renewable energy now a focal point of national policy, private funding should continue to flow to renewable energy projects with good risk/return scenarios.
