McKinsey Reviews Impact of U.S. Stimulus Package on Renewable Energy Industry
3/17/2009

Stoel Rives attorney John McKinsey was interviewed by Graham Jesmer of Renewable Energy World.com on the significance of the U.S. stimulus package to the renewable energy industry. The stimulus package included $67 billion in funding for renewable energy-related projects.

McKinsey said the shift of emphasis by the Obama Administration towards renewable energy and carbon management was perhaps the most significant development. While much of the government funding architecture (through agencies like the Department of Energy) was already in place, renewable energy ventures now stand a much higher chance of getting funds. McKinsey also predicted that with renewable energy such a focal point of national policy, private funding should continue to flow to renewable energy projects with good risk/return scenarios.
