ExperienceClaire Mitchell is an associate in the Technology and Intellectual Property group. She focuses her practice on regulatory compliance and risk management within the food, animal feed, beverage, and dietary supplement industries. Specifically, Claire counsels companies of all sizes on food safety protocols, including standard operating procedures, current good manufacturing practices, HACCP compliance review, and recall response. Claire has experience in drafting and reviewing supplier, broker, co-packing, and storage and warehouse agreements. In addition, Claire reviews labeling, marketing, advertising, and packaging materials for FDA and FTC compliance with regard to all required label statements and voluntary product claims. Claire's experience also includes assisting with the investigation of foodborne illness outbreaks, drafting documents, communication with officials at state and local health departments as well as the Food and Drug Administration. Claire blogs on the Food Liability Law blog and the Alcoholic Beverages Law blog and has been published in the Food and Drug Law Institute's Update and the American Agricultural Law Association's Agricultural Law Update.
