Representative Cases and Transactions
Extended Systems of Idaho, Inc. We represented Extended Systems in a copyright infringement and breach of license action as a result of Samsung Electronics' copying of software for use with Agilent tranceivers in Samsung phones without payment of royalties, leading to a multi-million dollar settlement. We also represented Extended Systems in an arbitration between two software companies in the mobile device industry. AppForge, Inc. accused Extended Systems of copyright infringement and breach of license and sought $13 million in damages. The panel ruled in favor of Extended Systems.
Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory We renegotiated NWREL's rights under a publication agreement with a major academic publishing house.
XanGo, LLC We used provisions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act to obtain favorable results pursuing individuals and companies who post XanGo's copyrighted material online.
