Partner Tim O’Connell was quoted in the Puget Sound Business Journal in an article titled “NLRB Ruling Could Still Upset Boeing Contract That Won 777x.” Boeing machinists submitted complaints to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) regarding the conduct of the vote. The regional NLRB office is seeking advice from the national NLRB that will aid in the investigation.
“It’s not a run-of-the-mill case that they send to advice,” says O’Connell. “It’s something they’re taking seriously and looking at carefully.” O’Connell also noted that historically, the internal union voting process has not been considered under the scope of the National Labor Relations Board.
