Stoel Rives provided legal services in the acquisition of substantially all of the assets and operations of its client, Coleman Homes, by Toll Brothers, a national builder of luxury homes. The purchase price, which was paid in cash, was not disclosed.
The Coleman family, which has been in the home building business since 1972, began doing business as land developers in the Boise region in 2004 and formed Coleman Homes in 2007. The company’s assets acquired by Toll Brothers number approximately 1,400 lots owned and 350 lots controlled in Ada and Canyon Counties and include a backlog of 135 homes.
The Stoel Rives deal team, which provided real estate, corporate, tax, employee benefits and IP assistance in facilitating the transaction, was led by Quentin Knipe and Kris Ormseth and also included Jeff Krueger, Chris Heuer, Catherine Lake and paralegals Theresa Howe and Terrence Ehlers.
Boise Office Managing Partner Nicole Hancock said of Knipe and the team: “Q has represented Coleman for many years, and their handling of this deal showcased the Stoel Rives depth and talent we have in Boise and throughout our 10 offices across 7 states.”
