Ahern Rentals $2 Billion Sale to United Rentals

Stoel Rives LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm, represented Ahern Rentals, Inc., the eighth largest rental equipment company in North America, in its sale of substantially all of its assets to United Rentals, Inc. United is paying approximately $2 billion in cash to acquire the assets in the transaction, which closed on December 7, 2022.

Already the largest equipment rental company worldwide, United expects to add approximately 2,100 Ahern employees, 106 locations and approximately 44,000 Ahern customers as a result of the transaction. Chief Executive Officer of Ahern Rentals Don Ahern said the transaction “will take the business forward in this next chapter of growth” and called it a “strong outcome for both organizations.”

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Ahern Rentals was founded in 1953 and is the largest independent family-owned equipment rental company in North America.
