Winners Announced at the 2014 Idaho Innovation Awards

BOISE- Winners were announced tonight during the ninth annual Idaho Innovation Awards, presented by Stoel Rives LLP, Kickstand and Idaho Technology Council (ITC), and supported by Idaho TechConnect and Deloitte. Winners and finalists were honored at a special awards presentation during the Idaho Technology Council’s fifth annual Hall of Fame Celebration at the Boise Centre on the Grove.

The Idaho Innovation Awards recognize innovative accomplishments in four categories. The 2014 Idaho Innovation Award winners are as follows:

Commercialized Innovation of the Year
  • TR Series by Bay Shore Systems, Inc.
Early-Stage Innovation of the Year (tie for winner)
  • Advanced Electrolyte Model (AEM) by Idaho National Laboratory
  • LightPaper by Rohinni
Innovative Company of the Year
  • TSheets Time Tracking
Innovator of the Year
  • Brad Wiskirchen, CEO, Keynetics

“This year’s winners represent the newest class of impressive Idaho innovators and innovations,” said Paul Boyd, Stoel Rives corporate partner and 2014 Idaho Innovation Awards chairman. “Tonight’s winners and finalists demonstrate the great promise Idahoans continue to show as they develop new and meaningful products and services here and around the country.”

Finalists in each category were also honored and recognized at the event. The 2014 finalists are as follows:

Commercialized Innovation of the Year:

  • CradlePoint AER 2100 by CradlePoint
Early-Stage Innovation of the Year:
  • VisitPay® - The First Online Self-Servicing and Financing Platform for Healthcare by iVinci Health LLC
Innovative Company of the Year:
  • Ednetics
  • Regence BlueShield of Idaho
Innovator of the Year:
  • J. Thomas Ahlquist III, COO, Gardner Company
  • George Mulhern, CEO, CradlePoint

The nominations were judged by a Selection Committee consisting of more than 30 leaders from Idaho’s business, technology and academic communities. Votes were tallied by accountants at Deloitte.

Following the announcement of the 2014 Idaho Innovation Award winners, Rich Stuppy, Idaho Technology Council executive chairman announced the induction of Don Kemper, founder and CEO of Healthwise, and Steve Meyer, North Idaho entrepreneur into the ITC “Hall of Fame.” More than 900 individuals from Idaho’s business and academic communities attended the event. The banquet also featured a keynote address from Richard “Dick” Fosbury, Olympic Gold Medalist and innovator of “The Fosbury Flop”.
