Tim O'Connell Recognized by AWB for his Contribution to Washington State Business Climate

Seattle, WA — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that partner Tim O’Connell has been honored with a “Heavy Lifter” award by the Association of Washington Business (AWB), Washington State’s chamber of commerce, manufacturing and technology association. Seven honorees received the award during the AWB 2015 Policy Summit on September 16 for their efforts in promoting policies aimed at improving Washington’s business climate and economy. O’Connell was specifically recognized for testifying to the Legislature on workforce issues important to improving the state’s business and regulatory climate.

O'Connell is a labor and employment and telecommunications law practitioner and currently serves as the Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee for AWB. His practice includes collective bargaining, unfair labor practice and representation proceedings before the NLRB and public sector agencies, labor arbitrations, equal employment and discrimination cases before administrative agencies and courts, wrongful discharge litigation, wage and hour counseling and litigation, and general personnel management. He has also been actively involved in the rulemaking process, both drafting and negotiating new rules and leading litigation challenging agency action.
