Maren Norton Receives Washington Association of School Administrators Regional Community Leadership Award

SEATTLE- Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that partner Maren Norton has been selected by the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) as a regional recipient of the 2014 Community Leadership Award. This award is given in recognition of outstanding community leadership and contributions to public education in King County.

WASA’s membership includes more than 1,600 educational administrators statewide. The organization is committed to leadership in providing equity and excellence in student learning, in developing visionary leaders and in promoting community and legislative support for education.

Norton is a partner in the Litigation group and has a broad range of trial and appellate experience in complex commercial disputes; environmental, health care and governmental litigation; mass torts; products liability and tax disputes. She was elected to the Shoreline School Board in 2007, serving during a critical time for the District as it recovered from a financial setback and regained public confidence. She also chaired Citizens for Shoreline Schools, who successfully campaigned for two levy propositions that were overwhelmingly approved. As a trustee of the Shoreline Public Schools Foundations, Norton’s outspoken advocacy contributed to a significant increase in the community’s support of their schools fundraising efforts.
